My Rating : 9/10
It’s been three days since I watched Christopher Nolan’s movie, Interstellar. I can tell you that I’m still in an Interstellar-hangover and I don’t think I can sober up soon. The movie was just Awesome!
In my opinion, I would consider this as one of the best films made in this decade. Some may say I’m exaggerating but I don’t care. This movie just struck me on so many levels, it has everything – action, space exploration, adventure, sci-fi, love and relationship.
The basic flow of the movie goes like this :
But this is not the only reason that means this movie so great. Making a high concept film from scratch to become a success takes something else. You don’t need to be a sci-fi geek to understand the movie. It’s just a bonus if you are one. The attention to detail given in this movie is really good. Take this scene for example, when they leave the earth and start spinning the space station to simulate gravity, the quietness of space and the movement inside are so factual. To add to this, Hans Zimmer’s music was beyond epic.
Another aspect of this movie is that it depicts the relationship between a father and a daughter. This was seen throughout the movie. The relationship between Professor Brand and Amelia Brand, Cooper and Murph. In an interview, Nolan said “it’s about human beings and their relationship”. This is what makes it such a great movie. A high concept movie with a touch of love and relationships which transcends time and space. The visual effects, the travel through the wormhole and black hole, docking while spinning were just groundbreaking. If you haven’t watched it, I suggest you to watch it now. If you have, I suggest you to watch it again, and again. That’s how good it was.
